WHAT TO EXPECT

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe environment for you to feel heard and explore your thoughts and feelings as they arise. I believe we are born with many of the tools necessary for handling what life throws at us. Unfortunately, we may have lost them along the way or never been made aware of them at all.

Therapy with me starts with free phone consultation to discuss your needs and determine if we are a good fit. Connection between client and therapist is key to productive therapy, and I prioritize this in our early work together.

Sessions with me are typically 50 minutes and involved a variety of things depending on the client’s needs and goals.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH

Therapy may involve aspects of mindfulness, such as breathwork and noticing the mind and body; cognitive behavioral therapy exercises; helpful bits of psychoeducation to learn more about your symptoms; processing difficult life events or experiences; and exploring family of origin and its effect on your current life.

Couples sessions may last longer, if necessary, and also may involve exploring sources of conflict in the relationship, identifying areas of improvement in the relationship, and practicing communication skills to improve connection with your partner.
